2012-2013
Lithos Spices
- Outgrowers are instructed by local agronomists
how to achieve better yield, how to avoid quality loss during transport.
- Payment to outgrowers is immediate
after reception and control of the spices
preserving the quality of the produce in the supply chain is achieved
by processing close to the farm thereby avoiding transport of wet
product, avoiding transport damages & improper interim storage,
ensuring that only well dried product (< 12% moisture) is packed
and exported. - ESEF saves on transport costs
(because no wet product is transported), washes sand & dirt
in the harvest area, uses local water sources to wash
Lithos Group ensures payment to ESEF
once the goods are stowed in the container
and all documents are in order
(Incoterm: FOB).
By keeping the supply chain short and transparent,
and involving quality checks in between, corruption is avoided.
Working with professional quality control consultants
(QITS-Addis) and logistical partners (Maersk, WEC),
documents are clear and complete,
which ensure a smooth transfer of goods and payments
